Chris McCrory

Chris McCrory is a 25 year old songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and sound engineer from Glasgow, Scotland.

Perhaps best known as the frontman for indie rock quartet Catholic Action (LUV LUV LUV, Modern Sky, Fuzzkill Records) his work as a songwriter and producer has been released internationally; featuring in the pages of The Wall Street Journal, NME, Les Inrockuptibles and more as well as earning playlist spots on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio France and Amazing Radio among others.

Learning his craft at Glasgow’s famously analogue Green Door Studio, Chris recorded bands for the likes of Columbia, Domino & Moshi Moshi records, including working with Turner Prize nominee, David Shrigley before opening his own studio, Shady Lane.

At Shady Lane, Chris became a leading light in Glasgow’s music scene, producing countless records for various Scottish labels – including four of Ravechild’s top twenty Scottish EPs of 2015 – all while touring extensively in Europe, the UK and the USA with Casual Sex and Catholic Action. Recent production credits include Spinning Coin, The Pooches, Palm Honey’s critically acclaimed, “Tucked into the Electronic Wave” EP, Kelora’s buzzy “BOY” EP, and of course, Catholic Action’s recorded output.

In his spare time Chris has been known to write for various music websites and fanzines and has recently begun directing short films.

Chris enjoys long walks on the beach at sunset, and spending time with his cat, Coco. He’s also very happy to be working from Hermitage Works in London.

Chris is available for production, writing, recording and mixing work.
